Arkansas’s success this season will once again be much more predicated on their portal additions than those right out of the high school ranks. One of their most notable adds this past offseason was Jaheim Singletary, a former five-star defensive back from Georgia. The Arkansas faithful are hoping that he can bolster their passing defense and lock down one side of the field. Another big add for Arkansas was DL Tank Booker out of Maryland, a run-stuffing nose tackle who has the potential to wreck opponent rushing games. Trajan Jeffcoat, a senior DE transfer from Missouri, was an all-SEC selection as a sophomore but tailed off in his past two years.

These are only a few of the players that Arkansas is bringing in this offseason from other programs. Their big portal adds, however, might be overshadowed by their big portal losses. Chief among these are safety Jalen Catalon (often-injured, but shone brightly when he was on the field), receiver Ketron Jackson (figured in prominently to the future of the Razorback passing game), TE Trey Knox (a true threat both blocking and receiving), and the aforementioned Myles Slusher. Can their portal additions make up for these losses? That remains to be seen.

Let’s finish up by taking a look at how the Razorbacks and Aggies stack up against one another in 2023.
