Texas A&M Football gains their 5th OL Commitment of the 2024 Class
The Texas A&M football staff has the makings of bringing in another fantastic recruiting haul after a great summer of recruiting from Jimbo Fisher, bringing in 17 recruits since the month of May. The latest of these commitments is a 4 star offensive lineman out of Clear Springs High School, Blake Ivy.

Blake Ivy is a 6’ 4” offensive tackle weighing in at 280 pounds. He has a large frame and great footwork, and is able to move the defense and move to a secondary block with ease. This will allow Ivy to excel as a run blocker, but he also has a large upside in his pass blocking. Ivy’s frame and long wingspan, combined with his footwork creates a very solid anchor for him to keep defensive linemen out of the backfield.
Ivy is the 119th overall player in the 2024 class, ranking the 7th best offensive tackle, and the 20th player overall in Texas. He is the 5th and highest rated offensive linemen commitment the Aggies have received in the 2024 cycle, joining 4 stars Isendre Ahfua, Weston Davis, Ashton Funk, and Coeh Echols.
Ivy’s commitment launched the Aggies deeper into the top 10, pushing them to the 6th overall class, with 1 5 star, 17 4 stars, and 2 3 stars. After a fairly successful pool party on July 29th, the Aggies are also still in the running for big name 5 stars such Terry Bussey, Kobe Black, and Micah Hudson. If Jimbo Fisher can put together a good season, the dominos could fall for the Aggies to have a top 3 class with multiple 5 stars joining the class.
Ivy is a fantastic pickup for Texas A&M football to round out the summer and can be a huge piece in recruiting other big names throughout the season. With his versatility, Ivy could be a key piece at offensive line even as soon as next season if Jimbo Fisher can hold onto his recruitment throughout 2023.
