The new QB for Texas A&M football, Conner Weigman, was the next to take the podium. You can view the video below:

Conner started off by saying he felt good, wanting to follow Petrino’s philosophy to feed the studs. The ability of those other players made life easy for him. As a good QB does, Conner shouted out the O-Line, receivers, and backs for their performances.

He mentioned that the team needed to execute one play at a time, but again said that the playmakers make it easy for him. Asked about the deep shots, he said that this new offense for Texas A&M football wants to throw the ball deep as much as possible, but you have to take what the defense gives you, thus echoing Fisher’s sentiment from earlier.

On the subject of breakout performer Noah Thomas, Weigman said that ever since spring, Noah and all the rest of the receivers have upped their game. Again speaking about the deep shots, Conner said that big plays get the crowd into the game; the OL had good pass pro, letting him get the ball to the receivers, and he knows they’ll make the play every time.

A great moment happened when Conner was asked about his scrambles during the game. He mentioned that it was really fun to tuck it and run, before smiling and saying he always asks coach Petrino if he reminds him of Lamar Jackson. When asked about the coach’s response, Conner said that Petrino just shakes his head.

A hot topic this offseason was how the Aggies would handle the team entrance after phasing out Kanye West’s “Power.” Asked about his opinion, Weigman said that the new entrance was awesome, and that the Texas A&M football team saw it a week ago. He continued, saying it was really cool to see the crowd into it.

Closing out the media availability for Texas A&M football were Edgerrin Cooper and Noah Thomas.
