The new starting quarterback for Texas A&M football, Conner Weigman, has absolutely lit Aggieland on fire with his performance last Saturday. The newest Aggie sensation set a record in his first outing, becoming the first A&M quarterback to ever pass for 5 touchdowns in a season opener. As David Nuño of Texags has pointed out on several occasions, that’s as many touchdowns as incompletions for the whole game. Not a bad statline!

Perhaps one of the best things that Weigman displayed—not only this year, but in his limited time behind center in 2022—was an ability to avoid interceptions. With that massive five-touchdown game he just had, his career total was brought to 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions. I’m no math major, but that gives him a touchdown to interception ratio of infinity. Or undefined, I guess, but that’s not as fun to say.

Despite this, there are some (and this may come as a shock) Texas fans who are still apparently denigrating the Aggie signal caller as “mistake-prone.” For example, please consult the below screenshot from the Twitter account “Message Board Geniuses:”

At least this guy has the good sense to give the QB for Texas A&M football the nod over the all-too-recently-mulleted wonder (who, incidentally, throws an interception about once every two games).

An interesting factor here is how quickly the fanbase will begin clamoring for Arch Manning to start—especially with an unfriendly Alabama crowd (and secondary) staring down Ewers and company this Saturday. Not too rosy of an outlook for them, I fear!

Could get cold take’d there, but I feel rather confident, after seeing the Longhorns struggle to block Rice, that the Tide will make things a little rough for their quarterback. I suppose my predictions for that game are really neither here nor there, but I thought I’d give you that one for free.

That was a joke. I don’t charge for any of this!
