Final Thoughts before Texas A&M Football vs Miami
With kickoff now just minutes away, here are some of my quick-hitters ahead of Texas A&M football taking on Miami.
- I’ve been saying all week that I think Amari Daniels breaks out with a big day on the ground. I’m not backing down from that prediction; I still think Petrino can dial up some calls to keep the Hurricanes on their heels, with Daniels being the beneficiary in the running game.
- This game should have a little extra sauce for someone like Shemar Stewart as well, as this road trip represents a return home for him as well. Look for him to make some noise up front—and hopefully, this time, without having a big play wiped out by penalty.
- Speaking of penalties, I want to see this Texas A&M football squad play cleanly on that front today. They gave up way too many yards due to flags against the Lobos last week; interestingly, though, hardly any on pre-snap penalties, which is a welcome change from last year. In that regard, the change in venue from home to road may not affect things that much.
- Bryce Anderson, Edgerrin Cooper, and Taurean York. These three will be the most important Aggie defenders this week when it comes to shutting down both the quick passing game that Shannon Dawson will throw out against the Aggies and the spread run game that has tortured A&M teams of the past. I’m looking for all three to have a big game today.
Some quick hitters from around college football…
- I think Bama wins by two or three scores at least. Texas will struggle to move the ball after Sark gets out of his script.
- If Michael Pratt plays for Tulane, I anticipate a close one down in Yulman stadium between the Wave and the Rebels.
- Auburn @ Cal is not only a great preview for the Aggies’ week 4 opponent, but an early candidate for strangest game of the year.
BTHOMiami!
