Game Time Announced for Texas A&M Football’s Week 4 Matchup vs. Auburn Tigers

There’s no time to rest in college football, as even coming off a dispiriting loss vs. the Miami Hurricanes, many Texas A&M football fans are beginning to think about what’s coming down the pike for their beloved Aggies. After another tune-up game for the Maroon and White in the form of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks this weekend, the Aggies will open conference play against the Auburn Tigers. The game time for that matchup has now been announced, with the Aggies facing off against the Plainsmen at 11 AM CT.

The game will be televised on the ESPN main channel, meaning that College Gameday will lead right into the broadcast of the Aggies vs. the Tigers.

This matchup represents an opportunity to right some wrongs for the Aggies. They certainly should have won that slog against Auburn late last season, but a pregame injury to Devon Achane, a midgame injury to Evan Stewart, a DNP-CD for Moose Muhammad, and an all-around poor night for the offensive line prevented the Ags from putting their best foot forward. With much of the offensive talent departing Auburn (cough Tank Bigsby cough) this offseason—despite the arrival of a much improved offensive coaching staff in Hugh Freeze and company—the Aggies should be favored in this one at home. Hopefully, given the lower caliber of this week’s opponent, they can already be preparing for this game even this week. I would not doubt that Auburn (who plays FCS Samford this week) will be doing the same—though, the Aggies are probably helped, if ever so slightly, by the fact that the Tigers’ hated rival, Georgia, will be making a visit to the Plains the following week.

Next. So, What Happened to the Aggie Defense?. dark
