5 Bold Predictions for Texas A&M Football’s Matchup versus the Warhawks

Here we are again! Time to run down the list of bold predictions for this week’s matchup against the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks.

Run Game Gets Back on Track for Texas A&M Football

After a strong first half with some impressive running by Amari Daniels against Miami, the Aggie ground game really started drying up in the second half. Miscommunication at the line of scrimmage played a piece in this, but it was less and less common for the Aggies to find consistent room on the ground against the tough Miami defensive front. I think the Aggies will reestablish themselves up front against an undersized ULM front—albeit one that has allowed an average of 4.06 YPC against Lamar and Army (sack yardage excluded).

Conner Weigman Wows us Again

The biggest story among Texas A&M football fans and media who don’t try to work every angle they can to discuss coaches on the hot seat is the ability of Conner Weigman that has been on display here these last two weeks. He has made several truly amazing throws thus far, and I think he’s got several more in store for us in this matchup. The signal caller for the Maroon and White is quickly becoming must-see TV.

Defense for Texas A&M Football Rallies Heading into SEC Play

This is a game where the Aggie defensive unit knows they have something to prove following what transpired in Coral Gables last week. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Aggies keep this moribund ULM offense in single digits—or even blank them, though such a feat is increasingly harder and harder in today’s game.

Evan Stewart Continues His Breakout

Stewart is currently second in the SEC in receiving behind South Carolina’s Xavier Legette. With the Gamecocks headed to Athens to play UGA and their stingy pass defense this Saturday, I think it’s likely that Evan will overtake that top spot come next week. I’ve got my eye on him to once again record multiple touchdowns in this one, as well.

Positive Turnover Margin for Texas A&M Football

The Warhawks have been remarkably opportunistic in this department so far, with their defense recording two interceptions in each of their first two contests and three fumble recoveries in their first game. I think the Aggies stay clean on this front and actually force the Warhawks into some mistakes, especially through the air. Hopefully a result like that would be a boost to a flagging secondary before the conference slate begins next Saturday.
