Early in the first half of Texas &AM Football’s game against ULM, the Aggies had the ball for their first possession after getting a stop. The first called play was a long throw to Ainias Smith by Conner Weigman, and with the prowess that Conner has shown so far this year, those kind of long bombs catch everyone in the stadium’s attention. Everyone, I guess, except the camera operator for the SEC Network.
I’m not sure if this guy was asleep at the wheel, distracted by the UGA score, or on the phone. Whatever the case, though, as Weigman unloaded a deep shot, the camera stayed fixed on the Aggie offensive line.
Maybe he thought it was a really convincing fake? Somehow? There’s really no way to know. I’ve always said that the 4 PM slot on the SEC Network is the lowest-rent of the three time slots, and so far that is holding true in this one.
The Aggies currently lead the Warhawks by a mark of 3-0 after one possession got into the red zone. The Warhawks were able to stymy Ainias Smith on a 3rd down run, which forced a Randy Bond field goal. Hopefully the Aggies are able to execute better in the red zone for the remainder of the day.
