Three Turning Points from Texas A&M Football vs. Auburn
Biggest Moments in Texas A&M Football vs. Auburn
That was one of the wilder games for Texas A&M football that I’ve seen in a while. The Aggies looked like they were dominating early in the game, but the score didn’t reflect how well this Texas A&M football team was playing. Auburn, for their part, was bringing aggression with success on the defensive side, which resulted in something I was afraid might make this list in an injury to Conner Weigman, and was effectively stymying the Aggies.
All this led to a grim feeling at halftime. As I mentioned in my Instant Reaction column, I’m sure I’m not the only Texas A&M football fan who was feeling like this was 2022 all over again. Anemic offense, defense that was having trouble against the run game, and a quarterback injury? All these things added up to some pretty bad feelings headed towards the second half.
Things flipped in the second half, however, as the Texas A&M offense got rolling and the defense began to impose their will upon the Tigers. It became nigh impossible for the Auburn offense to get so much as a first down for a long stretch of the game, and the defense for this Texas A&M football team racked up TFL after TFL. After a short scare, the Aggies were able to salt this one away. But what were the biggest inflection points in this contest? Here are the three moments that I see as the biggest momentum shifts and builders in Texas A&M football’s victory over Auburn.
