Texas A&M Football vs. Alabama Game Time Set

Most Texas A&M football fans have been looking forward to the matchup between the Aggies and the Tide since the moment the final whistle blew last year in Tuscaloosa. I don’t have to remind the Maroon and White faithful that even last year’s awful Aggie squad came only two yards from defeating the Tide on their home turf—and that 2022 Alabama team was by all accounts far superior to this year’s version.

It is that current version that will be rolling into town come October 7, however, and the Aggies are ready to welcome them. We now have a game time for this matchup, and—while it isn’t exactly what some Aggie fans wanted—it will be one of the most high-profile games of the weekend, with CBS selecting it as their 2:30 CT national broadcast.

A quick glance at the week 6 schedule reveals that this will likely be the top game of that weekend, as evidenced by this selection (CBS gets first dibs on SEC matchups when it comes to which game is going on what channel). Though it isn’t a night game (CBS has to select which week they want to broadcast their one SEC night game of the year before the season begins, and they chose the weekend on which LSU-Alabama falls), this remains the highest profile window in SEC football.

It goes without saying that a win here would be huge, if not absolutely necessary, for the future of the program. Alabama is down—like, way down—this year. You have them at home. All eyes will be on you. Your biggest rival has already beaten them. You need to make a statement. I have a feeling that the Aggies have something special in store for the Tide.
