Key player for Texas A&M football goes down with injury
Late in the game against the Tennessee Volunteers, one of the leading defenders for Texas A&M football went down with an injury in Walter Nolen. Big number 0 had been making his presence felt all throughout the game as a member of the Aggie defensive line that, while not quite as effective in the sacks and TFL department as they had been for the previous three games, was still playing great against an all-senior defensive line for the Volunteers. It was hard to tell what happened to Nolen on the play itself—he was held up front and jumped over a teammate before falling on his back—but it was clearly pretty serious. The cart came out for him to bring him off the field. You could see the emotion on his face as he was brought off of the field.
Nolen has been having a huge year for Texas A&M football up front, making a name for himself as one of the best pass-rushing defensive tackles in the nation. He’s been a wrecking ball all year for the A&M line and is one of the premier forces in a conference that has a lot of them along the defensive line of each team. Again, it was a bit unclear what happened, but there was nothing that came across on screen as a clear injury. It looked as though Nolen might have been favoring his leg, but it’s so tough to tell. I’m sure we will hear from Jimbo in the postgame as to what happened to Walt, and we will keep this page updated with any new info.
