PFF Gets Dunked On by Texas A&M Football Fans

One of the best players on this Texas A&M football team, Edgerrin Cooper, has been getting his fair share of honors recently for the stellar season he’s been having (as I manifested after writing about how good he’s been, clearly). Earlier this evening, Pro Football Focus tweeted out their list of the five highest-graded college linebackers in the nation, with Cooper coming in as the top dog.

There was an issue, however. Though they had Cooper’s headshot right, the feature photo they used of him was of a different Texas A&M football player, Leon O’Neal Jr. O’Neal, a fan favorite in his time at Texas A&M, has not played for the Aggies for two years, and is not even a linebacker.

It didn’t take long for Texas A&M football fans to take notice… and then start piling on.

This is definitely a welcome reprieve for Texas A&M football fans after the general poor mood of the past few days. That and the Michigan investigation that was recently announced are taking the attention off of what has been a rough week for Texas A&M football, both from the fans and from the media in general. Even former players were getting in on the dunks, with Bobby Brown chiming in with how mistaken PFF was:

It didn’t take long for the man himself, Leon O’Neal, to take notice of this blunder, either.

I guess O’Neal putting this up on his page was enough for Cooper to become aware, as Edge was in the replies of Leon’s tweet laughing at the faux pas.

If nothing else, this draws some positive attention to just how well the Aggie defender has been playing over the first half of the season. Edge has really made himself some money this year, and hopefully his talent and production could rocket him even up into a day 1 NFL draft pick.

Next. Why Aggie fans should be optimistic about the offense after the bye. dark
