5 Best Players Texas A&M Football Still Has to Face
Best Players Yet to Face Texas A&M Football: #4 – Maason Smith
Though the LSU defense has really disappointed this season, Smith is still a dominant force when playing at his best. Though his presence in the first game likely would not have changed the result, you understand when watching him why so many Tiger fans were upset that the NCAA held him out of the contest versus the Seminoles.
Smith has been off to a slower start this year than many anticipated when it comes to statistics, but if you watch him down in and down out, you can see his level of individual dominance.
That said, Smith is not the best defensive tackle this Aggie front will have faced when all is said and done. For my money, Miami’s Leonard Taylor is a better all-around prospect, and bests Smith in both pass-rushing and run-stopping ability. It was a struggle up front at times for the interior of this Texas A&M football offensive line against Taylor, and against Smith, Ojulari, and more along the line in a hostile environment in Death Valley, the Aggies will be facing a big ask. Last time Texas A&M football visited Baton Rouge, they had a far better team than the Tigers, but an inability to run the football led to the game being way closer than it should have been. Hopefully they will be able to overcome Smith and the rest of the LSU line to get an advantage up front down in Death Valley.
