5 Best Players Texas A&M Football Still Has to Face
Best players yet to face Texas A&M football: #1 – Jayden Daniels
I really like to troll LSU a little bit on my weekly SEC West Power Rankings when it comes to Daniels. And there’s some truth to what I’m saying: Jayden runs like he’s not worried at all that he’s going to get hurt (something we saw happen last year), and has the advantage of great receivers against all-too-often subpar secondaries. But it’s still hard to deny how well the LSU quarterback has been playing.
Whether Daniels can stay healthy all year is one thing, but his placement on throws and veteran decision-making is hard to get around. That said, he has been on a run of facing some lower-quality pass defenses since the first game versus Florida State. That Alabama game coming up in a couple of weeks will be a telling test for number 5.
The Tigers also host Florida (who has had a decent defense themselves) before they face off against the Aggies. Judging the quality of a pass defense based on their performance against a Joe Milton-led aerial attack is probably unwise, but putting DeBerry at nickel seems like it could be a salve for some of the issues Texas A&M football has had in defending the deep ball. Whatever the case may be, the Aggies will have their hands full when they visit Baton Rouge for the last game of the year.
