Could Texas A&M Football Flip this Five-Star?
Texas A&M Football Catching the Eye of Top-10 Player
Even though many Texas A&M football fans have been down on the future prospects of this team, the staff remains relentless on the trail. Case in point: even over a bye week, the Aggie staff is making waves, as five-star prospect and Texas Tech WR commit Micah Hudson made his way to campus.
Hudson is a dynamic and polished receiver, possessing every athletic trait that you would expect from an elite pass-catching prospect. As I mentioned, though, he is still committed to Texas Tech. He has by all accounts forged quite the bond with Red Raider head coach Joey McGuire, one that will be tough for any other team to overcome if they hope to win his signature come signing day.
That said, if any team were to do it, it appears to be the Aggies. On Friday night, Hudson was spotted wearing Aggies gloves at his game, and this visit to campus is his second in three weeks. With prospects like Micah, you have to just read the tea leaves—as is often the case in recruiting—but a quick perusal of his social media pages reveals that he has a penchant for tweeting cryptically. For example, after replying to the Texags tweet saying something about a Zach Bryan concert, he tweeted this:
Presumably, this means he’s “locked in” with his commitment? Either that or he’s…. I don’t know. Locked out of his car. Working at a locksmith. I’m not much for the “emoji interpretation” piece of recruiting.
In any case, though nothing seems imminent, it is definitely worth nothing that Hudson has been on campus so often recently. As I’ve said before, this staff is so proficient in the long game—building this foundation is necessary if they hope to turn up the heat later on. Make no mistake, landing Hudson would be a huge coup for Texas A&M football—a true long shot at the current moment, but file this away. It might just pay off in the end.
