Who’s Calling the Game for Texas A&M Football vs. South Carolina?

Texas A&M football eyes a pivotal matchup this weekend versus the South Carolina Gamecocks. This is a watershed moment for both teams, though in different ways, and could have massive implications for the head coaching position at each program. For the Aggies, Jimbo is already considered on the hot seat by many Texas A&M football fans, and for the Gamecocks, all the goodwill that Shane Beamer built up with big wins last year may be already out the door after a 2-5 start—and staring down the barrel of 4-8 if things don’t change quickly.

This game will air on ESPN at noon eastern, 11 AM central time this Saturday. This will be the Aggies’ third early start of the season. All of the conference games for Texas A&M football have been in the early window of the college football viewing schedule. For the Gamecocks, this is the first noon kick of the season. The Garnet and Black are seeking their second conference win after felling Mississippi State at home in mid-September.

Play-by-play: Mark Jones
Color Commentary: Louis Reddick
Sideline Reporter: Quint Kessenich

In all honesty, Mark Jones has gotten on my nerves in the past with his “how do you do fellow kids” bit, but I think they’ve found him a great partner in Louis Reddick. These two, along with Kessenich, called the game between Texas A&M football and New Mexico to kick off the season, and I really enjoyed what they did. Riddick in particular brings an elite level of analysis to the booth, and I’ve been happy with him calling college football games rather than NFL, as I prefer the former sport.
