Is Walter Nolen Playing in Texas A&M Football vs South Carolina?

Late in the game for Texas A&M football vs Tennessee, the Aggies were desperately trying to rally against the Vols, down only one score. Big Orange had the ball and was driving, so the Aggies needed a stop expeditiously. On that drive, however, one of the best players on a defensive line for Texas A&M football that had been acquitting itself well against the senior-laden Tennessee offensive front went down. And not just any player, either—it was Walter Nolen, likely the most talented guy in a group that goes three or four deep with elite level of play.

As CBS returned from commercial break, however, things began to really look worrying for the Aggie defensive lineman. He was still down on the field, and a cart was being brought out for him—never a good sign. The broadcast even made reference to emotions when you’ve realized your season has been ended, clearly implying that they thought it was likely the case for Nolen.

Since that moment, Aggie fans have waited with bated breath to hear news of big Walt and his status. Some information has leaked out that the injury hopefully was not as bad as it initially looked, and now it seems like that intel has been confirmed. According to Matt Zenitz of On3, Nolen should be good to go against the Gamecocks today.

This is great news for a Texas A&M defensive front that will likely be feasting in this game. The Gamecock OL has struggled mightily this season, especially in pass protection, so this is a big opportunity for the Aggies to rack up more sacks and TFLs to add to their insane total this year. Here’s hoping big Walt has a huge game today!
