Ranking everyone in division for Texas A&M football

Another SEC slate has wrapped up, and Texas A&M football has sustained yet another road loss. That sucks! I didn’t like it! But it happened. And since it did, I must include said result in my consideration during these power rankings. Or not, I guess. I am the sole arbitrator of all that goes on herein, when you think about it. That’s why I ranked LSU in last the past two weeks. Well, one reason; it was chiefly because they disrespected the troops by beating Army so bad.

893. . 4-5. Previous: 5th. Bulldogs . 7. team

The Bulldogs are once again in last place. They lost to Kentucky 24-3, and Arkansas got a road win. I hope you enjoyed your brief moment in the sunshine, Bulldogs! Next up? Playing Texas A&M football way closer than you have any right to before eventually losing by double digits!

844. . 3-6. Previous: 6th. Razorbacks . 6. team

Arkansas will in all likelihood end with a worse record than Mississippi State, but that’s not because they’re a worse team. Yes, they lost to the Bulldogs, but I find it hard to consider a 7-3 loss non-fluky. Facing down games against Auburn and Missouri, though, the Hogs are probably bound for eight losses at least.

. 5-4. Previous: 4th. Tigers . 5. team. 842

Hugh Freeze is on the verge of cobbling together a seven-win season if he can defeat the aforementioned Hogs on the road and vanquish the New Mexico State Aggies at home. If so, the Iron Bowl will get way too much attention and probably the SEC game of the week again, but regardless of how that one goes, the Tigers are putting together a nice year.

817. . 6-3. Previous: 7th. Tigers . 4. team

LSU’s defense is bad and it keeps getting worse. Granted, their offense is pretty insane, but they met their match against Alabama. Now, with Jayden Daniels injured and out for an unspecified amount of time, the Tigers will have to roll for at least a little bit with Garrett Nussmeier at signal caller—but all three remaining games are at home. Will they be able to keep up with opposing offenses?

873. . 5-4. Previous: 2nd. Aggies . 3. team

I’ve said for the past two or three rankings that a hair’s breadth separate Texas A&M football from Ole Miss. A loss by 3 on the road, minus their two best corners, in a game where the Aggies had way too many chances to win, doesn’t really change that appraisal for me. They’ll probably flip flop again next week when Ole Miss gets pounded by Georgia.

2. team. 841. . 8-1. Previous: 3rd. Rebels

Ole Miss is once again putting together a solid season and winning on the margins with Kiffin. It’s almost the equal and opposite of Jimbo: the Ags have been neck and neck with or solidly better than the Rebs every year since Lane has been there, but one guy wins the close games and one guy doesn’t.

team. 829. . 8-1. Previous: 1st. Crimson Tide . 1

The Tide exposed LSU for the third time this season, ending the game as a blowout that should’ve been by even more points if Will Reichard remembered how to kick the football. LSU was almost shut out in the second half, even before Jayden Daniels went down with injury. For all intents and purposes, the Tide have won the West.

Three takeaways from a brutal loss to Ole Miss. dark. Next
