Who’s Calling the Game for Texas A&M Football vs Mississippi State?

Texas A&M football is returning home this weekend to square off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, hoping to break a two-game losing streak to State. The Aggies are pretty big favorites in this one, but some uncertainty regarding the quarterback situation on both sides has made the picture a bit cloudy when it comes to how exactly this game might play out.

This game will be kicking off at 7:30 Eastern Time (6:30 Central) and will air on ESPN2. Texas A&M football doesn’t often play games on the ESPN secondary channel, usually going either main channel or SEC Network, but when they do, they often feature an announcing combo that the Ags don’t often see. So who is on the call for this weekend’s matchup against the Bulldogs?

Announcers for Texas A&M Football vs. Mississippi State

Play by Play: Brian Custer
Color Commentary: Rod Gilmore
Sideline Reporter: Lauren Sisler

This will be the first time that Texas A&M football fans will be hearing Brian Custer call an Aggie game. Custer joined ESPN in 2021 after a stint at Fox Sports, and the dearth of times the Aggies have played games on ESPN2 (one other game in the past three years) has meant that there haven’t been many opportunities for Aggie fans to hear him call a game for the Maroon and White. Rod Gilmore is an ESPN veteran, so many Aggies should be familiar with his work, as well as Lauren Sisler, who has been the reporter for several Texas A&M football games since coming on with the Worldwide Leader.
