The Pulse: Texas A&M Football Returns for Week 9

Texas A&M football may have lost once again, but their in-house behind the scenes look at the football program rolls on, just as they do each week. You can watch the video at this link, or click below.

As you can tell from the thumbnail, a big emphasis from this episode is the Aggie Ring. Several big names from the team, including Fadil Diggs, Max Johnson, Chris Russell, Layden Robinson, Isaiah Raikes, and more received their ring this past week. Congratulations to all these young men on their hard work both in and out of the classroom, and for each representing the university so well.

The middle segment focused on the love each of these guys has for playing the game, as well as giving a nod to the grind and the discipline it takes. Playing in the SEC week in and week out is a true challenge, and it’s one that these guys confront head on.

Pregame clips showed a team that seemed pretty hyped up for the challenge they were facing. We know now, of course, that it took the offense a while to get going, but that didn’t appear to be for lack of energy: you see early on that Ainias is getting everyone in the receiver group going right before kick. Once more, for however jaded a lot of fans are when it comes to Jimbo, it doesn’t ever look like the group in the locker room is that way, especially during his pregame and halftime speeches. Go back and compare these to the later episodes in the Sumlin years; the two look far different.

The game itself, as one might suppose, does not change in outcome, even when watching it on the Pulse. Sad! The biggest highlight is obviously the blocked kick being returned for the touchdown. The episode ends about as abruptly as I can remember one ending, though, going straight from Andrew Monaco’s call of Bond’s missed field goal right to the end credits. I’m not sure this necessarily means anything with regard to the locker room after the game, but it’s worth noting.

The Pulse will return next week after the Mississippi State game.
