Retaining Robinson a Priority for Texas A&M Football

Ever since dismissing Jimbo Fisher, the biggest factor holding things together for this Texas A&M football team has been the man named interim, Elijah Robinson. Coach Robinson has long been a known quantity as one of the top recruiters on this staff full of them, and in his short time as interim has won the hearts and minds of many Aggie fans. His original press conference went a long way to show the kind of man he is, and why so many of the players rallied around him when he was given the nod to lead the Aggies in these last three games. His appearance on the Aggie Football Radio Hour on Wednesday evening similarly caused many Aggies to start giving serious thought to the possibility of him becoming the head guy in a full-time capacity.

Though that latter notion is still somewhat divisive among Aggie fans (at least if my Facebook comment section has anything to say about it), keeping Robinson on staff in some capacity is a clear top priority for whoever the incoming coach is. He’s certainly not a guy you would want to face off against in recruiting and the portal, especially when so many key Aggie players are so close with him at this point. Luckily, if the man himself is to be believed, he and his family are very comfortable in College Station, and it seems like it would take a lot—maybe nothing short of a Power 5 head coaching gig—to pry him out of Bright.
