Texas A&M Football Transfer Portal Targets: LB Chris Paul, Arkansas

Despite the decision to retain Sam Pittman—or perhaps because of it—a significant amount of big time contributors for the Razorbacks have already hit the portal. One of the big names here is that of Chris Paul, and it’s not just because he shares his name with a famous basketball player.

Paul notched 74 total tackles this past year as well as two sacks and was a feature player on an admittedly weak Arkansas defense. When things were clicking, though, he was a menace on that unit for the Razorbacks both this year and last year. Measuring in at 6’1″ and 233 LBs, he’s a bit on the shorter side for a linebacker but still solidly built.

FSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn are some of the programs that have already extended offers to Paul. He will be a hot commodity given his SEC experience and pedigree. The Aggies don’t quite have the linebacker coaching position sorted out yet, but hopefully that is wrapped up soon. Paul would be a great talent to have on campus given the imminent departures of Cooper and Russell, and function well as a stopgap while some of the young LB talent the Aggies are bringing in continues to develop.
