Three bowl opponents that Texas A&M football fans would enjoy beating up on

Texas A&M football will find out their bowl destination this Sunday. While closing out the year in the way they did is a disappointment, the Ags still have a chance to finish the year with their most wins since 2020.

That would be a heck of a way to start off the Mike Elko era. And, not to mention, this bowl game—while projections are still all over the place—could have the Aggies facing off against an old foe, if things fall the right way.

Even if not, there are still several teams that Aggie fans would love to take down a notch. Here are three that fit that bill.

Three bowl opponents that Texas A&M football fans would love to beat: USC

Lincoln Riley rarely beat out the Aggies for any top recruits while he was in Norman, but he is still one of the more annoying characters in college football. He's patently overpaid for what he has accomplished in Los Angeles—or, maybe more accurately, failed to accomplish—and yet he's still mentioned like he's an elite coach in the sport.

But what would feel the sweetest about this one is that it would be payback for what the Trojans did to the Aggies late in this recruiting cycle. Riley's team swooped in and stole Husan Longstreet out from under A&M's nose, preying on fears about playing time with Marcel Reed now at the helm, and nearly left the Aggies high and dry.

This led to quite a bit of crowing on the part of Trojan fans. They stopped their gobs after the Aggies flipped Jerome Myles in return, of course, but they may not yet have learned their lesson.

Beating up on USC would be a nice slice of humble pie to serve to one of the most fair-weather fanbases in the entire nation after a season full of it out in sunny Southern California.
