Texas A&M has been hard after a lot of top recruits in the 2027 cycle, and so far, their hit rate has been extremely impressive. The Aggies have snagged no shortage of top talent thus far, giving them the second-rated class in the country with only 13 commitments, and many more to come.
The final trajectory of this class will be determined in the coming months, however. There are a lot of Aggie targets with impending decisions, and the Ags need to capitalize on several of those. One big five-star— both literally and figuratively— has announced a decision date, and it gives a huge hint to Aggie fans in the way things are going.
Unfortunately, though, it is not a positive hint. Oluwasemilore Olubobola, a five-star offensive lineman from New Jersey, will be committing on Tuesday, but signs are pointing away from Texas A&M.
Texas A&M's offensive line options are about to dwindle with 5-star target trending away
Olubobola had been considered a battle between Miami and Texas A&M in recent months, but it is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who have leapt in and seized the lead in recent days for the five-star blocker.

Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons of Rivals have both registered predictions for Olubobola to land with the Irish as of two days ago, and that trend seems to be holding as the decision date is now approaching.
If Olubobola is indeed headed to South Bend, that means that the commitment of Mark Matthews— whenever that may be— is now of the utmost importance for both Miami and Texas A&M. The thought was that whichever of these two players committed first to either A&M or Miami, the other would head to the opposite school. Now, though, with the Irish in the equation, it's all or nothing for Matthews.
Hopefully, the Aggies can close that one out. It's unfortunate that Olubobola is most likely headed elsewhere, but this will, on the flipside, allow the Aggies to focus more strongly on Matthews alone.
