Texas A&M may have won the first two games over the Penn Quakers by only one run, but they left no room for speculation or "what-if"s in the weekend's final contest. The Aggies demolished Penn by a score of 7-1, emerging with an error-free game to close out the weekend.

Nico Partida is a name that Aggie fans will be hearing quite a bit more going forward after this series. The Aggie third baseman/shortstop was a player that many fans had high hopes for coming into the season, but he has showed some top-shelf stuff already through the first seven games of the year, including a homer in this one.
We don't have an official 2028 Draft rankings board out yet, but when we do, Texas A&M shortstop Nico Partida will have plenty of consideration at the top.

Texas A&M closes out heart-pounding series with Penn in style, winning 7-1 over Quakers
The performance from the pitchers was stellar all weekend as well. Texas A&M has not surrendured a walk in their last four games, and it helped them tremendously this entire weekend against what seems to be a pretty solid Penn team.
Aiden Sims has been a great addition to this weekend lineup, as his level of play has calmed a lot of nerves about the starting rotation for the Ags. Hopefully he can keep a high level of play throughout the season, as it will be very tough to get back to Omaha without excellent play on the mound.
Texas A&M has a midweek upcoming against Lamar at Blue Bell Park before they head to Globe Life Field for their first huge tests. They'll square off with the Virginia Tech Hokies on Friday before facing down the no. 1 UCLA Bruins on Saturday. If Texas A&M comes out of that game with a win, they'll really have announced themselves to the world.
For now, though, Aggie fans need to enjoy this win and a 7-0 squad. At this point last season, the wheels had already started to come off, as A&M had lost to Cal Poly and Texas State back to back— this year's squad looks to be made of sterner stuff.
