The three biggest turning points on Texas A&M football's 2025 schedule

Texas A&M football officially has their schedule set for next year. Though there is quite some time yet to go between now and when next season actually kicks off, one thing is clear: the Aggies do not have near the favorable slate next year as they did this past season.

Even so, there are still reasons for optimism. The Aggies do not face Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, or Tennessee. Even though the road slate is tough, the Ags may only need to go 3-2 away from Kyle Field to be in the playoff conversation.

Taking a look at how the season shakes out, some pivotal games start to emerge. These may not be the biggest opponents, but they are still going to be moments on which the season will hinge. Let's break down which three games are the biggest moments for this Aggie team.

Three biggest turning points for Texas A&M football in 2025: Notre Dame

I know I just said these may not be the biggest opponents, but probably the biggest one on the schedule is Texas A&M football's early game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Instead of playing the Irish on the first game of the year, as happened in 2024, the Ags get a two-game warmup instead, against both UTSA and Utah State at home.

There have been a lot of fans claiming that Marcel Reed starting the game against ND this year would have ended in a win for the Aggies. Well, in all likelihood, we'll see him ply his craft as the unquestioned starter up in South Bend in week three.

This is the biggest question mark for the Ags in the first half of the season. If A&M wins this one, they will very likely be 6-0 before they begin a killer road trip. With a bye week coming directly after this game, how the Aggies do in this one will dictate the vibes in the season's early going.
