Three Texas A&M football players to watch in Las Vegas Bowl: Rueben Owens

Though we saw Owens make his official return in the final game of the regular season against Texas, he was largely ineffective. He only had a few carries and mainly spelled Amari Daniels for brief periods.

However, with a few weeks more of practice, I think Owens will have a greater chance to impact the game. Reports out of fall camp were that he had emerged as a solid RB2 option behind Le'Veon Moss, and I'm hoping we see some of that quality in this game.

While I don't think he'll be at full capacity quite yet, he should be a lot closer than what we saw against the Longhorns. Running through contact was an issue for him last year, so one thing in particular I'll be tracking with the former five-star RB is how well he can pick up yards after being hit. His ceiling is as high as anyone's on the team, so a strong game here can propel him to a big 2024.
