Texas A&M football receives hearty support from Baker Mayfield ahead of showdown with Texas

While there's no big historical rivalry to speak of, it's still not very often that Texas A&M football fans and Oklahoma Sooner fans find themselves on the same side of something. Of course, the Sooners did the Aggies a huge favor last week by defeating Alabama, thus keeping A&M's hopes alive in the SEC race, but instances like those are few and far between.

One reliable occurrence like this, though, is whenever either team ends up playing against Texas. The Aggies are renewing their rivalry with the Longhorns for the first time since 2011 this weekend, and there's much more on the line than any of us could have anticipated.

So, when several players from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were creating a video ahead of rivalry weekend, making their picks, their quarterback—OU legend Baker Mayfield—was unafraid to let his real feelings be known.

Like I said, it takes a lot for a Sooner to back the Aggies. But when it comes to playing the hated Longhorns, there's no question.

Mayfield went 2-1 against the Longhonrs in his career at OU, though he was 2-2 against them overall if you count his time at Texas Tech. Having come out of an Austin high school, he knows firsthand just how annoying Texas fans can be.

Longhorn fans are equally peeved by him, though, given his bravado and antics as one of OU's best quarterbacks ever, so this has to be pretty grating to see for them. Oh well!
