The Aggie ground game puts up a season-high on the Tigers
One of Missouri's greatest strengths this season has been its ability to stop the run — holding opponents to just 90.4 yards per game, the 14th best mark in the sport. Conversely, Texas A&M brings the 23rd-best ground game to Columbia averaging just over 200 yards a contest. So something is bound to break in this matchup on Saturday, and history is on Texas A&M's side.
This won't be the Aggies' first rodeo against a stout run defense. Notre Dame currently holds the 12th-best run defense in the nation, Texas A&M ran for 128 yards on them. Auburn has the 9th-best run defense, yet Texas A&M found 207 yards on the ground against them. Even Florida, who amidst all its deficiencies still has a top-30 run defense in college football, gave up 183 yards on the ground to the Aggies. This tailback room has gotten better with each passing week, and Marcel Reed is always ready to chime in with 30-or-more of his own.
In a game where Texas A&M should be able to dictate the tempo on offense, I'll take them to put up more yards on Missouri than anyone else has this season — that being 150 by Alabama — and march forward with another successful day on the ground.
