With the mid-season coaching firings rocking college football this season, Texas A&M fans have been concerned about one of their own.
Since the firing of Mike Gundy, arguably Oklahoma State's best coach in school history, rumors have been swirling about the possibility of Collin Klein taking a head coaching job at Oklahoma State. The Pokes helped out Texas A&M fans by hiring Eric Morris, the head coach at the University of North Texas.
This is a huge relief for A&M fans, as Klein has turned Texas A&M into an offensive juggernaut. Now, that problem is solved. Let's also hope that Klein doesn't fall into the trap of others who need head coaches.
Texas A&M dodges bullet as Oklahoma State signs Eric Morris as their new HC
Oklahoma State makes it official. AD Chad Weiberg: "Today begins the next era of Oklahoma State Football. Coach Morris has proven his ability to build & lead winning football programs. He has consistently identified, recruited & developed some of the best players in college… https://t.co/ctLiiT1We0

This was one were Texas A&M fans were geninunely concerned about, but not anymore.
Morris has led the Mean Green to a 10-1 overall record with dreams of a College Football Playoff birth. A lot still has to happen, but Morris has put UNT on the map.
A&M fans still have to wait and see what happens, but Klein might still be a name floating around once the season is done— maybe even for the open UNT job. Oklahoma State was just the more likely destination, but now, that's out of the picture.
LSU is probably looking to make more of a home run name in their next coaching search, and Virginia Tech has already hired James Franklin. Ole Miss still has a decision to make after the Egg Bowl regarding Lane Kiffin, so we'll have to see how that goes.
For Oklahoma State, they're getting someone who can help them make a comeback. Gundy couldn't adjust to the changing landscape of college football, and it was just a matter of time until the Cowboys made a change.
Morris is a fresh name and a bright face to bring change to the Cowboys, and it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the Pokes next.
