It was a frustrating two weeks for Texas A&M basketball, but they were finally able to get out of their four-game losing streak at home against Ole Miss. Add 33 minutes to those two weeks, and it looked even more irritating. The Aggies were facing a double-digit lead for most of the game, and they found their unlikely answer.
Zach Clemence, who didn't see the court that much in his three years with Kansas, was a hero in the comeback against Ole Miss. It would've been A&M's most embarrassing loss of the season, but head coach Bucky McMillan credited Clemence for a huge reason as to why the Aggies won.
Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan on Zach Clemence stepping up with 14 points: "Zach is just playing man, he's not overthinking it. I love Zach Clemence. He's powerful and confident right now. He was plus 20 on the stat sheet in 24 minutes."

Bucky McMillan is in awe over Zach Clemence in the last few outings
Clemence is the unlikely hero because he wasn't expected to play a whole ton. Now, he's averaging career highs in points, field goal percentage and minutes.
The former Jayhawk is being patient with the basketball and using fundamentals to score buckets. We've seen this already from Clemence before, as he scored 21 points against South Carolina and 20 points against Missouri. He's also not afraid to take threes, but that's not his game.
He's averaging six points a game, not exactly sexy when you look at it on paper, but he didn't get a whole lot of playing time at Kansas to prove themselves. Kansas head coach Bill Self is one of the gold standards in college basketball and always gets the best players. This was a good restart for Clemence, and he's making the most of his time with the perfect head coach.
We're not saying that we were expecting him to be at the end of the bench, but going through his history back at Kansas, fans probably didn't expect a ton of action from him. Well, think again. McMillan has him on his radar and is crediting him for one of the more memorable wins of the season.
