Texas A&M basketball has been without former Indiana stud Mackenzie Mgbako for the majority of the season, as he is still recovering from a foot injury. Bucky McMillan just told fans not to worry, however.

Of course, the Aggies could use Mgbako during this time of the season, but the Aggies, with such low expectations on McMillan's first season with Texas A&M, are still in the March Madness tournament as a 10 seed.

Mgabko was only able to play in seven games and averaged 10.4 points per game.

Bucky McMillan sounds confident that Mgbako will return for the 2026-27 season

"He can come back for sure next season. He’s not going to go to the NBA unless he was healthy enough to perform well in workouts where his draft status would be where he wanted it to be."

A&M fans were worried last summer that Mgbako's impressive performance at the NBA Draft Combine would have him going pro, but he decided to test the waters with McMillan and Texas A&M for a season.

Unfortunately, his injury derailed any hope of that, but this is some confidence from McMillan regarding where Mgbako will be next year. It's not 100 percent, but this indicates that Mgbako will stay at A&M next season.

Also, having Pop Isaacs and Rueben Dominguez would be huge, too. Both of those guys have proven to be lights-out shooters, and they have thrived tremendously under McMillan. Issacs is shooting 40.8 percent from deep, the best mark of his career. Dominguez is averaging 10.6 points per game while shooting at 40.1 percent from deep.

It hasn't been the same without Mgbako, but it sounds like we could get another chance to see him in action for a full season. Another season of McMillan is not bad either, considering the job he's done without his best player this season.
