There was once a time where Buzz Williams was saying "bah humbug" during Christmas time.

He's not saying that this time around.

After Texas A&M's dominant victory against Houston Christian, 77-45, Williams was reflective on his time as the head man for Aggie basketball.

He compared some past Christmas affairs with some teams, including what used to be a headscratching time for Aggie basketball.

The Aggies were at home at 2022 around this time. They played the Wofford Terriers, a team that went 1-5 at the time in the Southern Conference. They were led by freshman Jackson Paveletzke who torched the Aggies, putting up 22 points and finishing perfect from the free throw line.

The other embarassing feat - Santa Claus attended the game, and fans could attend the contest for free. Aggie fans got to see the Grinch instead.

Williams is now taking time to appreciate the strides he's made since that time.

"I remember that Christmas not being a lot of fun and the Santa Claus at my house was not me, I was for sure the Grinch at my house, and I'm not going to be this year. "

This is exceptional progress considering what he also said about his team. His team isn't the necessarily the best, they're just hard-working guys to do their job everyday.

"I do think our talent is OK. I don't think it's overwhelming. I don't think it's the upper echelon of the SEC or the nation."

This goes to show that Williams has made serious progress with his team. Going from the Wofford game two years ago with a 6-5 record to a 10-2 record is definitely something to say Merry Christmas about.
