2021 CFP National Championship: Alabama vs. Georgia
Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs got their first national championship of the era in exciting, if controversial, fashion. UGA had fallen to Alabama in the SEC championship game, when the Tide were at full strength with John Metchie and Jameson Williams both playing; however, when Alabama was missing those wideouts, it was the Bulldogs who emerged the victor.
This one was close right up until the end, and was punctuated emphatically by a pick-six in the final seconds. Bryce Young, for all his strengths, ended this game with a whimper when he airmailed a pass into the Bulldog secondary that sealed the game when Kelee Ringo returned it.
When all was said and done, it was a 33-18 final score for the Bulldogs. Despite a two-score deficit at the end, this one was exciting most of the way through.
