It's been nearly a week since the Houston Cougars found themselves in one of the biggest gaffes in NCAA tournament history.

Ever since Emmanuel Sharp left his feet to shoot a potential game-winning three pointer against Florida, things have been slow-moving for the Houston Cougars. As concerns grow around Kelvin Sampson and how much time he has left to coach, the Cougars came out with some transfer portal news.

Terrance Arceneaux, a 6-foot-6 sophomore with an underrated shot has made the decision to enter the transfer portal, and there's one obvious reason why the Aggies have to make a phone call to him.

Aggies once had their eyes on Arceneaux back in high school

It was in the Fall of 2021 where the kid from Beaumont had to decide between four schools.

He eventually chose the Houston Cougars out of this pool of remarkable finalists. He was clearly a talented kid out of high school, and he's brought some solid minutes for Sampson and co.

Even though Buzz Williams was once linked to Arceneaux, it's now Bucky McMillan's team, and now it's his job to bring in a championship experienced player. He's also from Beaumont, Texas, and now Bucky has a real shot to snag in an already talented guy.

He's comparable to what Jarrett Culver once was at Texas Tech. Both guys have the same height and a similar body build, with Arceneaux just weighing 10 pounds more than Culver. Arceneaux's averages have been growing every year, and he'd be the home run hitter that could truly be a star on this new-look Aggie team.
