Easiest SEC permanent opponent draws - T-5: Missouri, Texas

The fifth-easiest set of permanent opponents in the conference is a tie between Missouri and Texas. These two teams have also been given the exact same set of permanent opponents: Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas A&M.

Oklahoma’s recent troubles have led to them having a relatively low rating in these difficulty rankings, compared to where they may have landed during the Lincoln Riley years, as has Arkansas’s… you know, general profile.

The end of Jimbo’s tenure drags the Aggies down a bit, but their profile is headed in a positive direction, as is Oklahoma’s if the early season here is no mirage, so maybe this is underrating things a bit. They’re closer to 7th than 7th is to 8th, in other words.

Nonetheless, it’s telling in Texas’s case in particular that the Sooners came into the conference with such a tough schedule and now get the toughest three permanent opponents, while the Longhorns came in with such an easy schedule and now get the easiest three permanent opponents. That’s enough to raise some eyebrows in Norman, I’d imagine.
