The biggest speculation in the NFL right now could end up giving Texas A&M football a chance to round out their portal haul nicely.

Texas A&M football could reap huge benefits if Deion Sanders heads to Dallas Cowboys

I imagine there is a large cross section of Texas A&M football fans and Dallas Cowboys fans. Though College Station is much closer to Houston than it is to Dallas, there's no denying that the pull of the Cowboys brand is far stronger than that of their AFC brethren to the south.

In that vein, I'm not sure that Deion Sanders taking the Dallas Cowboys head job would exactly be thrilling for many Texas A&M football fans. It doesn't necessarily scream "massive on-field success," despite the improvement that Coach Prime has shown at Colorado this year.

Irrespective of NFL loyalties among the maroon and white faithful, though, there is one thing that this rumored move would accomplish for Aggie fans. If Deion Sanders does indeed join Jerry Jones up at the Star, then the Aggies could finally bring Drelon Miller home.

Recruiting enthusiasts will remember Miller as one of the prize Aggie recruits of the 2024 cycle, until the rocky terrain of the midseason hit the A&M program hard. Miller, along with other highly-ranked players, ended up decommitting.

There was some initial thought that Miller would directly flip to LSU, but as time went on, he remained uncommitted after backing off of his A&M pledge. He was actually seen back on campus visiting following that decommitment, bolstering A&M hopes of signing him after all.

But at the end of the cycle, Miller ended up signing with Colorado, where he has been ever since. Being behind a cadre of talented receivers, including the illustrious Travis Hunter, Miller hasn't seen the field too much, but he could be poised for a breakout season this season after two years of honing his skills.

If Sanders heads elsewhere, though, Miller could look to depart Boulder— and the Aggies could well reap the benefit. This will be a storyline for Texas A&M football fans to watch as things continue apace in the Dallas Cowboys' head coaching search.
