With the departure of Albert Regis to the NFL, Texas A&M Football is in need of a solid replacement to help offset the lack of Regis' production next season. With Elijah Robinson back in his previous position as the defensive line coach, he and the staff have already added very solid edge players out of the portal, but the interior D-line still needs help.

Luckily, the Aggies look like they're moving quickly to address this. Carson Bounds reports that former Illinois Illini defensive lineman Angelo McCullom will be in College Station for a visit— a big body that the Aggies could need.

Texas A&M hosting Big 10 defensive lineman Angelo McCullom from Illinois

The Aggies seem to be looking once again towards the BIG 10 as they are set to host former Illinois DT/NT, Angelo McCollum. McCollum comes from Pickerington, OH, a common recruiting hot bed right in Ohio State's backyard.

He came into Illinois as a former 3-star recruit. Despite limited playing time and production as a freshman, McCullom was a regular rotation piece for the Illini this season and dramatically increased his production this season. He ended the season with 19 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2 pass deflections.

As the tweet above references, McCullom is not the first former Illini to come visit the Aggies. Kicker David Olano has already signed with Texas A&M, and the Aggies would love to see McCullom join him in maroon and white.

Will McCollum be able to fully replace Albert Regis? No, he won't, but he could add excellent size and depth and be a regular in the interior D-line rotation as he continues to develop each year. If Robinson and staff are able to land him, don't be surprised to see him as a consistent contributor next season for the Aggies.
