ESPN has just released another way-too-early first round NFL mock draft for 2026, and there are certainly some factors on that list that will serve to intrigue Texas A&M football fans. The Aggies have some projected first rounders in some corners, so the first thing that the maroon and white faithful will be looking for is any A&M players listed among the 32.
According to Matt Miller, though, there won't be any representation of the Aggies in this group. At least, not directly. There are two former Aggie players listed among the 32, even if there are no current A&M players.
Those two are LT Overton, a defensive line signee from the 2022 class who is now at Alabama, and Eli Stowers, who started as a quarterback with the Aggies in 2021 before converting to TE and eventually transferring out. He's now at Vanderbilt after a stop at New Mexico State.

If Overton does eventually go as a first round selection, that would make three of the four five-star linemen that the Aggies signed in the 2022 class as first round selections. Walter Nolen and Shemar Stewart both came off the board this past year, and Overton has a chance to do so going forward. The only one remaining would be Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, who is searching for some more significant playing time in Columbia, South Carolina.
Stowers' case is intriguing, given his extremely roundabout path to a potential first-round selection. His physical gifts were always a big plus, but he was apparently dedicated to playing quarterback for a while for the Aggies. Now that he's learned the TE position better, though, he's able to contribute in a massive way for Vanderbilt.
The Aggies have some first-round candidates who could work their way into this list, too. PFF has not been shy about listing Taurean York as a guy who could make his way in. Cashius Howell could have a big year and crash this top 32. Ar'maj Reed-Adams and Chase Bisontis are both massively talented IOL that could get in there as well.
The season has yet to play out, but there will no doubt be some stock risers for the Aggies if they forge their way through this remarkably difficult schedule. Here's hoping some big time performances put the maroon and white back in the first round come next spring.
