We could go on for quite some time about this group.
Nic Scourton has found his home, and it feels like he's getting better every week. He has 4.5 sacks so far this season.
There's no doubt that he's making a stronger case every week to play on Sundays.
Shemar Stewart has made impact plays for this team. He forced a fumble against Arkansas to set up Texas A&M in great field position.
This front is known to shut down the opposing run game, and that's probably the biggest strength of this group.
They get an A for excellence as probably the best overall group on this team.
This is an average group that has such high potential.
Although Taurean York missed on an angle that gave Notre Dame a key touchdown in week one, he owned up to it. He's been solid ever since.
York is the leader in tackles on his team so far this season with 28. Scooby Williams has 20 total tackles on the season.
This group is relied upon to stop the run, and they deserve as much credit as the defensive line.
The linebacking group will get a B for their continued effort and high ceiling.
The safeties have been consistent for the most part.
I'm sure Aggie fans will agree that the Bowling Green game was the worst game for the secondary, but they've picked up after themselves since then.
Bryce Anderson, who was looked at to be making noise here in 2024, hasn't been that active, but Marcus Ratcliffe has. Ratcliffe is tied with Williams with 20 total tackles this season.
As long as the safeties can make their reads and focus, the rest will follow.
Will Lee III has been a beast.
Lee III has 22 tackles and one interception this season.
This has been his coming out year and he will continue to make lockdown plays.
The cornerback position is one of the toughest positions on the field, so with the difficult task that Lee III has to cover the best receiver every week, he's been doing a great job.
The cornerbacks will get a B in our midseason report card.
