Texas A&M's offense hasn't been explosive through the air for quite a few years at this point. The Aggies suffered through some real offensive doldrums during the time of Jimbo Fisher's overly-complex scheme on that side of the ball, but even last year under Collin Klein, the aerial attack didn't have too much of a vertical element.

Of course, that vertical element is exactly what is needed in modern college football for a team to have success, so it's been a clear priority for the Aggies during this offseason to remedy those faults. There have already been some good reports on what A&M's retooled receiver room can accomplish, but a lot falls on the arm of Marcel Reed.

We've seen a lot of potential out of Reed, and he was starting to put things together down the stretch for the Ags, but the consistency needs to be there in greater measure for Aggie fans to feel comfortable. In the search for that consistency, fans have been scrambling for anything they can find— and a clip from the recent Fall Camp scrimmage has the Aggie faithful pretty excited.

You can only learn so much from scrimmage clips, of course, but that won't stop anyone from overreacting with the season so close at hand. Check out how smooth this all looks:

Fans were clearly pretty excited:

Insider Billy Liucci seems to be pretty confident on Texas A&M's quarterback situation as well:

Look, we'll have to wait for real games to see if this is sustained progress or just a fluke. But with the way that we saw Marcel improve down the stretch of last year, I think it is perfectly plausible that he's taken those kinds of strides in the offseason.

If he has, of course, that means it will pay some massive dividends for the Aggies in the upcoming year. The passing attack needs some explosiveness, and if Reed and these receivers deliver, it will get exciting quickly in College Station.
