Final 2025 SEC power rankings: 7 - Missouri

The Tigers closed out the year at 8-4 after a promising start in what turned out to be a bit of a tumultuous year. Losing Beau Pribula to injury was not ideal, but in the final analysis, it’s hard to say that it really lost them any games that they otherwise might have won.

Texas A&M is the obvious candidate there, as Matt Zollers could barely complete a pass against the ferocious A&M defense, but with how emphatic that win was for the Aggies, I’m not sure Pribula’s presence flips the outcome. Maybe if he had been present for the remainder of the Vanderbilt game, but Zollers played rather well in that one.

Oklahoma will feel like a missed opportunity, but that was a game all but dominated by the Sooners, despite the scoreboard looking pretty close at the end. Alabama and Vandy are really the two that got away.

Mizzou is set up well for the future, but this season was just okay for them. If Drinkwitz doesn’t get them back to the heights we saw a couple of seasons ago soon, it will be interesting to follow how the conversation around him evolves.
