Final 2025 SEC power rankings: 4 - Alabama

The Tide made it to the playoff quarterfinals after taking care of business against Oklahoma, but no Alabama fan can be happy with the way things ended this season. Getting embarrassed by Indiana in the Rose Bowl, no matter how good the Hoosiers end up actually being, is still something that will enrage fans.

The program is in an odd place right now as they are sustaining quite the exodus via the portal and towards the NFL draft. Losing a lot of production is nothing new for Alabama— it happened all the time under Saban and he simply reloaded— but things feel different under DeBoer.

I’m not sure there are a lot of Alabama fans happy with the direction of the program at the moment. Even despite what he accomplished this year, the head man in Tuscaloosa has to feel like his seat is ever so slightly warm going into 2026.

What he does have, though, is an elite recruiting class ready to come in and make a difference. The Tide have a high number of potential difference makers in their class, and while they may be young next year, they’ll have studs all over the field.
