Reed shows us more with his legs than we've seen all year
Let's double down on the Aggie quarterback in this week's bold predictions, because I think we might be in for a special day from the man under center.
We've seen Reed hit explosive plays through the air far more than he did in 2024, but we've yet to see him have a dominant day on the ground. Last season Reed had five games in which he ran for 50-plus yards, something we've seen just once in 2025. That should change this weekend, facing a defense that couldn't stop a nosebleed, allowing 184 rushing yards per game.
Given the fact that this team will also be without star running back Le'Veon Moss, I think we'll see the Aggie quarterback used more in the designed run game, which — mixed with a few scrambles — should contribute to Reed's best rushing day of the season.
Rueben Owens hits a career-high in rushing yards
Moss's injury is a heartbreaking blow to this offense, but it's not a death sentence for this group. Rueben Owens is a terrific consolation prize, and this team has a stable of complementary backs who will do their best to plug any holes these changes may have caused.
For Owens — a back that only logged 13 carries in the team's first four games of the season — it was good to see his volume tick up against Mississippi State — and, of course, in the Florida game once Moss was lost. He was dominant against the Bulldogs, registering 142 yards, and found the end zone for the first time this season against the Gators.
With the volume of carries heading his way and facing a defense that has struggled mightily to stop the run, I think Owens will eclipse 150 yards on the day in what will not only be his best game of the season but also the best game of his career.
