Five-star target moves up decision date as A&M battles Oregon for commitment

Texas A&M is in the thick of things for multiple five stars, and the Aggies need to outlast the Ducks only a few more days here.

Texas A&M football has long been a high choice for several of the most notable recruits in this entire class. The Aggies have done a great job of setting up this cycle to be a big one after the transition class of 2024 and having shorter relationships with the class of 2025.

One of those recruits that the Aggies have done well with is Brandon Arrington, an athlete from California. Playing both receiver and corner, the Aggies are recruiting the lanky Arrington at DB, and they're hoping that he will be the latest in a long line of top talent from the Golden State to end up in College Station.

Mike Elko and company have done a great job in picking up some big names from the West Coast, but they have stiff competition for Arrington in the form of the Oregon Ducks. Though he was originally slated to announce at the beginning of July, Arrington has just announced that he is moving up his decision— and Aggie fans are hopefuly.

Texas A&M football could pull in verbal commitment from five star Brandon Arrington this Thursday

Arrington is one of the top remaining targets on the board for the Aggies, and now they will only have to wait a few more days to see if he ends up committing to the good guys.

A pickup like this would be absolutely massive for the Aggies. They're still battling for five-star DL Lamar Brown, and this would be a much-needed shot in the arm momentum-wise.

Reading between the lines from several insiders, the Aggies still have a few commitments outstanding, including a few that were hinted at not long after Arrington went public with this decision to move up his timeline. That would make me pretty confident in the Aggies, provided that we don't see a surge of Oregon momentum here in the next few days.
