Texas A&M football had some breakout stars this year, but there were also several players who went a bit under-the-radar that also played important roles.

Five unsung heroes from 2024 that Texas A&M football fans need to give some major appreciation to

Texas A&M football didn't end the season the way they wanted to— obviously. The Aggies ended 1-4 in their final five games, with their only win being over a horrid New Mexico State team.

But that was only so disappointing due to the amazing start that the Aggies had. Were it not for a narrow loss to a Notre Dame team now in the final four of the playoff, A&M would have been 8-0. They were alone in first place in the SEC for a considerable amount of the year— something they haven't often done since joining the conference.

That was thanks to several of the breakout stars we saw for the Aggies this year— Le'Veon Moss and Marcel Reed being two key ones. But who were the unsung heroes— the ones putting in the work that went a bit more unnoticed? Here are five such players.

Five unsung heroes for Texas A&M football's 2024 season: Kolinu'u Faaiu

Faaiu had a yeoman's task before him this season. In the very first game, Mark Nabou went down with what ended up being a season-ending injury, requiring Faaiu himself to step up.

And step up he did. Faaiu was a key piece of the offensive line for the rest of the year. Even though he battled through injury himself at different points, requiring the now-departed TJ Shanahan to take his place in the middle of the Aggie offensive line.

When you consider the fact that he was a spring enrollee, Faaiu's indispensability this season becomes even more impressive. He slid right in and provided some absolutely crucial help this season, and he should get recognition for that.
