Former 12th Man takes shot at Taurean York for fiery quote after loss to Longhorns

It looks like there's still a little bit of friction between players loyal to different eras of this Texas A&M football program.

Former 12th Man Connor Choate derides Taurean York's fiery postgame quote after Texas A&M football's loss to Texas

Given how close of a game Texas A&M football just played against the Longhorns in the first installment of the renewed rivalry, it chafed fans that much more that victory was so close to being within reach. It wasn't just fans, though; the players that met with the media following the loss were clearly disappointed with themselves and the team for the way the game went.

One of the players interviewed was team captain Taurean York. York, a linebacker out of Temple, has become a fan favorite quickly thanks to his vibrant love of the university, smart play, and leadership.

He's a guy who isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. That emotion came out in the postgame, where York spoke passionately about the culture change that has already gone on in the program, and the work that has yet to be done.

That's the kind of thing that has made Aggie fans take to him so quickly. However, apparently not all of the Maroon and White faithful enjoyed York's comments—including a guy who very recently was meant to embody the spirit of Aggieland.

Former long snapper and 12th Man Connor Choate clearly had his feathers ruffled by what York had to say, chiming in with this after York's comments were put out online.

He wasn't done after that. He then went after another of York's comments, where no. 21 mentioned that he would be taking greater care to emphasize leadership in preparation going forward.

It's tough to know where exactly this comes from. Whether it's loyalty to Jimbo Fisher (who made Choate the 12th Man), some kind of personal beef with York (with whom Choate was teammates just last year), or simple frustration after the loss—no matter what, this isn't really a great look. Hopefully, the two can figure out whatever is going on.
