It didn't take us long to say that Marcel Reed should be in the Heisman conversation.
It's still early, but fans are probably laughing at Paul Finebaum's ridiculous Texas take from a few months ago, saying that Arch Manning was going to have the best quarterback season since Tim Tebow. That has not happened, prompting Aggies fans to laugh hysterically.
But what isn't ridiculous has been Reed's style of play. He's looked like a legit Heisman contender thus far, and it has caught the notice of the 2011 Heisman winner.
Robert Griffin III has put Marcel Reed in the Heisman talk
One of the more vocal college football talking heads just put Reed in that conversation after last night's win. It's not hard to see why, but it takes someone as prominent as Griffin III to say it for anyone to believe it.

Griffin III went as far as to put the 'dog' X-ray photoshop over Reed to illustrate his point. Reed has looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, with some tough competition in that pool.
The 'SEC Numbers Guy' has Reed trailing just behind John Mateer and Joey Aguilar in passing yards. This isn't surprising to Aggies fans, but maybe so for others.

2) Joey Aguilar - 906 yds (9)
3) Marcel Reed - 869 yds (9)
4) Taylen Green - 866 yds (11)
5) Ty Simpson - 862 yds (9)

This list also shows how Manning is much short of the mark here, and that was described perfectly in this 'X' post.

It’s time to spread the word that Marcel Reed is more than deserving to be at the top of that conversation now pic.twitter.com/keuGLoT7M6
It seems that the guys that made up 'QBU' are preforming well in their respective schools. Haynes King just led the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 start and a win against Clemson. Conner Weigman rushed for two scores in a win against Colorado.
It was quite the weekend for current and former Texas A&M QBs, with Conner Weigman, Haynes King and Marcel Reed combining for over 1,000 total yards in wins over Colorado, No. 12 Clemson and No. 8 Notre Dame. #QBU pic.twitter.com/OSHQdWc0zo

The portal isn't to break hearts completely, it's to find your purpose, and it's safe to say all three of these Aggies quarterbacks at one point have found their calling.
