Khris Middleton, a former Texas A&M Legend and NBA champion, has had quite the career. He's quietly been one of the best Texas A&M basketball players of all time.

After a championship run with the Milwaukee Bucks as the main sidekick to Giannis Antetokounmpo, Middleton was traded to the Washington Wizards as a veteran piece to a young bunch. Now, in the infamous Anthony Davis trade, Middleton was traded to the Mavericks.

He's now playing with the future Rookie of the Year in Cooper Flagg. Some fans are thinking he might be a buyout candidate, but Middleton is chilling out for now.

Khris Middleton could be the veteran leader that Cooper Flagg needs

Middleton finished his Mavs debut with 13 points and five rebounds in a furious Mavs attempt at a comeback. It may not have been the best stat line, but it was his career debut, and after being involved in buyout talks, it seems like Middleton can be a nice asset to Flagg after all.

With so many injuries on the Mavs roster this season, Middleton might be the breath of fresh air Flagg needed. Flagg's oldest mentor is Dwight Powell, the longest tenured Maverick. Not a bad face to look up to, but Middleton has plenty of juice in the tank to make Flagg better.

Jason Kidd, the former coach for Milwaukee, spoke as if Middleton does have a home here.

"“Some would say he was a throw-in. He’s a lot bigger than you think. He can post. He can shoot it. For me, it was exciting to be able to work with Khris early on in his basketball journey. He did all the hard work. When we got him, he was our best player at the time. Giannis [Antetokounmpo] not that far behind.”"

Dallas would be the perfect place for Middleton to end his career. He's not in the mix for the playoffs this year, but he's with Flagg. He's going to be the face of the NBA sooner than later. Not a bad place to end a career.
