Former Texas A&M football receiver Christian Kirk has been released following three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Kirk saw some of his best games in a Jaguar uniform, with his best season coming in 2022, where he caught 84 balls for 1,108 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He looked to be a reliable source for Trevor Lawrence, and was on track for another 1,000 yard season but missed the last five games due to injury.
Kirk was let go to help save money for the Jaguars, saving $10 million for the team.
In 2024, Kirk suffered a broken collarbone in the middle of the season, hindering his time on the field once again. Kirk did everything Jacksonville had asked for, but got unlucky from injuries. The question now: where does Kirk go after spending short stints in Arizona and Jacksonville, respectively?
Where could former Texas A&M football receiver Christian Kirk end up after being released by Jaguars?
Kirk is in the middle of his NFL career with plenty of more to give. He gave Jacksonville relevance being apart of a playoff team while pushing over 1,000 yards on the season.
A possible destination would be the Dallas Cowboys, simply because they need the depth next to CeeDee Lamb. Brandin Cooks is the de facto number two receiver but went out with a knee injury. Dallas simply needs depth, and Kirk is the perfect ideal receiver for Jerry Jones to bring in.
Another team Kirk would fit well with would be the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers seem to have found their guy in Ladd McConkey, but Kirk would add more fire to the depth giving Justin Herbert another key wideout.
The Las Vegas Raiders could be a nice fit too. With Maxx Crosby signing a multi-year extension, it gives some depth on the offensive side. The Raiders have a lot more to figure out, but he'd be looked at for a lot of balls and would give Brock Bowers someone else to take the load off of him.
No matter what, we wish the best for Kirk and hope he finds the right destination.
